Jilson House?
May 18th, 2014 at 12:21pm

anyone know what the deal with the Jilson House is?...ive always wanted to go see it but its always closed and the website is not functional. iu was just down on the green for the popup farmer's market and it would have been perfect for people to be able to visit it. i remember a lot of money being spent to renovate it and its a shame its not available for people to enjoy

I think they might need more volunteers in order to keep the house open on a regular basis.

I have never known it to be open.

And what is the deal with that doll house or whatever that is supposed to be outside there?

I do realize this is an old post, but I am going to respond for those interested.

The Jillson House is open Saturdays and Sunday during the months of April to December from 1pm to 4pm or by appointment.

We are currently in the process of updating all of our exhibits, creating a research room on the second floor, and digitizing the collection.

Yes, we do need volunteers to open the doors. In order to expand our hours we need folks who know local history, who can give tours, and can help visitors with research. anyone interested should contact me.
